In 1984 Victoire de Castallane made her staggering triumphant debut as the jewelry designer for Chanel, where she remained for the next fourteen years. Over the years her debut season, the famed Byzantine collection, went on to reach legendary status in large part due to her gorgeous work.
Four stands of choker length gripoix pearls (which were personally created for Coco Chanel herself by Suzanne Gripoix) run along either side of an intricately detailed pendent which features a central burgundy gripoix stone encircled by five smaller pine green gripoix stones.
This piece is vintage and does show signs of wear. Please see photos.
